Before Experience

An Exercise

This showed up for me yesterday in my memories on Facebook. I wrote it imagining what my guardian angel(s) may have shared before birth. I’m resharing it today in case anyone reading this feels inspired to channel your own ‘before experience’ poem.

Before Experience

You will feel the mountains

Taste water from a spring

Walk barefoot upon the rocks

And hear the river sing-

You’ll get to know the ocean

Watch the setting sun

Swim and surf among the waves

Delighting in the fun-

You’ll take long walks in cities

In forests and in parks

Pause to write your poems

From insights that they spark-

And there will be experiences

That no words can explain

Ones of bliss and happiness

And some of grief or pain-

Yet your soul will grow immensely

In creating from the heart

Your attitude and gratitude

The key to life as art~
