Cooling Down

Like so many places right now, it’s scorching hot here in the desert Southwest. This morning, a little bird reminded me that we all need respite from the heat, as well as from other life stressors. So, as we navigate our days, perhaps we can carry some extra water bottles, and extra patience and kindness for each other.

Chill Bird

A bird jumped on a kickboard

And bent down for a drink

She didn’t lose her balance

And the kickboard didn’t sink-

I watched her for some moments

And gave thanks for the pool

For when the summer heat kicks in

We all need space to cool~
